Control4 is a brilliant idea, executed well - though not flawlessly - and let down by hardware that isn't as reliable as a light switch should be, and also by software that is hobbled. I finally decided to go with Control4 for automation control for my dedicated HT. I was ready to write him a check when I found out that I would never have access to the programming software. I felt really uncomfortable paying that kind of money for a system that was essentially closed to me.
AFAIK, without the programming software, I'm dependent on that installer for any little change I might want to make in the future. Now I understand that with Control4's current business model they are dependent on their network of local dealers and I have no problem buying my hardware from them and paying for initial installation and programming.
But if afterwards I decide I want to change which remote switch controls which light or add a motion sensor, I wanna be able to play with that on my own.
Without access to programming, I can't do that, right? How do you guys feel about this? Is there anyway around it? VLC Media Player. MacX YouTube Downloader. Microsoft Office YTD Video Downloader. Adobe Photoshop CC. VirtualDJ Avast Free Security. WhatsApp Messenger. Talking Tom Cat.
